You've got a headstart on the Beginners course, but you're not quite up to Intermediate yet. Probably friendly with the Duolingo Owl, but feeling a bit attacked by their notifications? This one's got less explanation, and more repetition and practice. Oh, and full-on Kanji use. But nothing to be worried about, I know you got this!
You already know your Hiragana and Katakana, so let's get crackin' with Kanji!

I know this ain't your first rodeo so the main focus in this course will be vocabulary and grammar. Japanese grammar can get really tricky, but hang in there! Once you have that all down pat, you're on your way to true fluency! By the end of this course you'll be able to create longer sentences, express yourself more freely, and feel more confident in your speech. We'll dive into tricky grammar, naturalistic Japanese, and tonnes of conversation.

And now you're looking for a course that can meet you at your current level, and then teach you the grammar and vocabulary for the next, in a structured, simple way. We'll take a deep dive into complex grammar and natural Japanese language. We'll also cover Keigo (honorific language) used in business and formal settings.
So you've previously studied Japanese, lived in Japan, or finished the first few courses...
High Intermediate
Become a master!
In this course we'll be taking a deep dive into a bunch of more complex topics to boost your vocabulary and your Kanji bank. There'll also be a whole new stack of grammar to up your ability to express yourself in a variety of different situations using both casual and polite language. This course is equivalent to the JLPT-N2 level.

I can honestly say that I really like the course structure, a lot of the content particularly the grammar is explained well. Now, there's no magic formula to instantly make you fluent in Japanese but having a good foundation is important and this course structure does that very well...the rest is up to you!

Learning a language being dyslexic is really hard but Amiee has made it a bit easier. Each lesson is in video format as well which means I’m not relying on reading, also the worksheets text are on a pinkish background so even better for my dyslexia, very easy to read. I was once standing at the starting line too, looking towards what seemed like an unattainable goal.
Japanese is kind of like my first love story, ever since I visited Japan when I was 14. Since then, I've had my fair share of nights crying into textbooks, going through stacks of flashcards for what seemed like days on end, and watching video after video on language learning tips, and still feeling like I was moving ahead at snail speed.
Japanese in 12 has been developed from my experience as a student, my years in the classroom teaching, and my adventures as an interpreter. I'm actually pretty proud of it, and can't wait to show you.
