For every level of Japanese learner

I know it's daunting, but don't worry, I got you! We'll go through all of the basics, starting with Hiragana and Katakana. Japanese can become complicated with all of the particles, the grammar, and the politeness of speech, but I'll lay it down as simple as possible. In 12 weeks you'll be glad that you started the journey here!

You're ready for the challenge that is learning Japanese!

Let's level up!

You've got a headstart on the Beginners course, but you're not quite up to Intermediate yet. Probably friendly with the Duolingo Owl, but feeling a bit attacked by their notifications? This one's got less explanation, and more repetition and practice. Oh, and full-on Kanji use. But nothing to be worried about, I know you got this!

You already know your Hiragana and Katakana, so let's get crackin' into the Kanji!

Boost me up!

I know this ain't your first rodeo so the main focus in this course will be vocabulary and grammar. Japanese grammar can get really tricky, but hang in there! Once you have that all down pat, you're on your way to true fluency! By the end of this course you'll be able to create longer sentences, express yourself more freely, and feel more confident in your speech. We'll dive into tricky grammar, naturalistic Japanese, and tonnes of conversation.

Follow me, I'm taking you on a deep-dive into the Japanese language!

and now you're looking for a course that's going to take you to the next level. You're looking for a course that can meet you at your current level, and then teach you the grammar and vocabulary for the next, in a structured, simple way. In the advanced courses (advanced 1 and 2), we take a deep dive into complex grammar and natural Japanese language. We also cover keigo (honorific language) used in business and formal settings. Advanced courses are equivalent to the JLPT N3 & N2.

So you've previously studied Japanese, lived in Japan, or finished the first few courses...

...and no I'm not being dramatic! I could go on for hours about how perfect the structure and content that Aimee provides is but I'd literally be here all day. Instead, I want to focus on how her course has changed my overall outlook on language learning! I used to think I had to sit for hours revising grammar and doing vocab flashcards in order to learn a language. This course has proved me wrong. I have realised that the key to learning a language efficiently is CONSISTENCY!!! The fact that this course 'made' me study 20 mins a day 5 times a week provided me the consistency I needed to not only fit learning Japanese in around my hectic university studies, but also to form a routine. Aimee is a huge inspiration for me and she has truly made the best language course for anyone who thinks they don't have time... she'll prove you wrong!

Japanese in 12 has truly been a life-changing experience for me...

Japanese is kind of like my first love story, ever since I visited Japan when I was 14. Since then, I've had my fair share of nights crying into textbooks, going through stacks of flashcards for what seemed like days on end, and watching video after video on language learning tips, and still feeling like I was moving ahead at snail speed.

Japanese in 12 has been developed from my experience as a student, my years in the classroom teaching, and my adventures as an interpreter. I'm actually pretty proud of it, and can't wait to show you.

I was once standing at the starting line too, looking towards what seemed like an unattainable goal.
