Meet Our Star Students!

Meet just a few of the students that make Japanese in 12 as amazing as it is! Japanese in 12 is comprised of hundreds of students learning, developing, and improving their Japanese skills together!

I decided to interview a few standout students who went above and beyond to put one hundred and ten percent effort into J12 and learning Japanese, and here's what they had to say!

I can honestly say that I really like the course structure, a lot of the content particularly the grammar is explained well. Now, there's no magic formula to instantly make you fluent in Japanese but having a good foundation is important and this course structure does that very well...the rest is up to you!

"As a return student for the second time...

Paulo, Intermediate Student

Over the years I’ve tried to learn Japanese in a few ways (apps, face-to-face tutoring) but never learnt as much as what I have with Japanese in 12! The information is easily understandable, in a short format that fits in with my busy life and fun. But the best part…. It sticks! I genuinely believe I’m going to reach my goal of speaking Japanese thanks to Aimee and the team.

"What a blast the past 12 weeks have been!

Melina, Beginners Student

That's Aimee. I kid you not; we're on opposite sides of the planet; the course is quite self-paced, and you still feel her passion for Japanese radiate through the materials. I know, I know, it sounds cheesy, but there is no other way to put it. Aimee makes Japanese so approachable. You know how Kanji are terrifying with their complexity and sheer numbers? Fear no more, she sneaks them into the material, and your brain will simply absorb them! The entire course is genuinely fun and enjoyable. Of course, it is challenging, you want to learn something after all, but it isn't overwhelming. Aimee explains everything thoroughly and her patience knows no boundaries when you do need a little more help. Still reading? Still looking to learn Japanese? Do it already!

"Have you ever had a teacher who was just totally passionate about the subject they're teaching?

Tom, Beginners Student

As someone who has tried to self motivate and study Japanese before (with no results) I must say how grateful I am for Aimee and this amazing class structure she has created. Each week lessons are broken down into "bite sized" modules. They are not only easy to understand, but they are beautiful to look at. Aimee has a loving and supporting nature. She is your biggest cheerleader so to speak. I am someone who puts a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed. Every opportunity she had, Aimee would help change the way I was thinking. Instead of looking at all I don't know, she reminded me about what I have learnt thus far. Aimee has curated a wonderful community of like-minded individuals. Individuals who help uplift, support, and practice alongside you. Overall, Japanese in 12 has been such a game changer. I cannot wait to start the next level in my learning. Thank you!

"Gosh, where do I start?...

Kaitlyn, Beginners Student

Learning a language being dyslexic is really hard but Amiee has made it a bit easier. Each lesson is in video format as well which means I’m not relying on reading, also the worksheets text are on a pinkish background so even better for my dyslexia, very easy to read. My husband says I’ve learnt more Japanese then he did in his semesters of Japanese! Japanese in 12 is a super supportive community and so much fun to learn with.

"Japanese in 12 is a great course!

I was once standing at the starting line too, looking towards what seemed like an unattainable goal.

Japanese is kind of like my first love story, ever since I visited Japan when I was 14. Since then, I've had my fair share of nights crying into textbooks, going through stacks of flashcards for what seemed like days on end, and watching video after video on language learning tips, and still feeling like I was moving ahead at snail speed.

Japanese in 12 has been developed from my experience as a student, my years in the classroom teaching, and my adventures as an interpreter. I'm actually pretty proud of it, and can't wait to show you.
